Food Diaries: Teacup Kitchen

For anyone, not local there NQ stands for Northern Quarter and it holds many delights. There is a hub of burgeoning tea places, poke food movement going ahead, hand baked cakes shops and gourmand chocolate boutiques. However, an ongoing love for me is cake! (apart from chocolate). The reason is when we have birthdays, we have cake! When we go to weddings, we order cake! When anything happens, we choose cake! Unicorn cake! Magic cake! Rainbow cake…

Teacup has been a favorite of mine for a few years, and even though I’m far from a regular I’m always made feel welcome and remembered. Its the personal touches of staff which make the cake magical.

This is a carrot and walnut cake with almond flakes and coconut icing, tell me what more can one want in life? Heaven served up on a plate under a Β£5.
